This Tuesday ~ Join us for a visit to Australia!



Drop in on Tuesday, July 24 for a performance by Didgeridoo Down Under. The high-energy, Australia-themed show combines music, culture, science, comedy, character building and audience participation. Raihan Alam, one of the DDU crew, will take you on a musical journey to Australia and beyond, as he plays an assortment of didgeridoos and percussion instruments. 

Show starts at 6:30 p.m.and is free!

Cap'n Jack Sparrow ~ Thursday eve

Ahoy, me hearties! Cap'n Jack be pulling into port on Thursday, July 19.

The good Cap'n, being a gentleman of fortune, will regale all gathered with tales of adventure. 

Best of all, it'll not cost ye a farthing! So don't lay around like a lily-livered bilge rat.* Get ye to the library for an evening filled with fun and action.

The show begins at 6 pm and is rated Arrrr - suitable for adults and children of all ages.

*authentic pirate talk. You can learn it yourself using the Mango language program, available in the library's database list.

This Weekend @ the Library ~ Rocks! Books! Art!

The library will be a hoppin' place this weekend.

On Saturday, July 14 there will be an outdoor book sale as part of the Route 96 Flea Fix. Friends of the Library have pulled together more than a thousand books for you to browse and buy.
 
Then, on Saturday afternoon  join us for Bones and Stones at 1 p.m. Rock-ologists of all ages can make a fossil, make prints and stone art, and explore geology. free 
 
Sunday, July 15 is ArtSplash from 1-3 p.m.with local artist Johanna. Explore art lettering. $5 fee covers all materials.

Libraries Rock! Summer Reading and Programs


Summer reading starts Monday July 9 and continues for six weeks through August 18. This year’s theme is “Libraries Rock” so it’s all up to you whether you wear tie-dyed Ts and bellbottoms, or grab a rock hammer and field guide. Either way, head on down to the library to sign up for summer reading because books are cool and there are tons of prizes!

Readers of all ages – from “just beginning” through high school – are encouraged to explore new books and relax with favorite stories. Weekly prizes include geodes and crystal-growing kits. Fill out tickets to enter the end-of-summer drawing for a gift certificate to Barnes & Noble.

The library is also hosting a series of family-friendly events.
