Borrow a Park Pass and Visit NY State Parks this Summer

Once again Candor Free Library has a pass to NY State Parks available to borrow. Check it out and head to a park - the pass will get you free entry for a carload of family and friends.

Not sure where to go? Here's a list of state parks near and far. (For more information about park and historic site fees and hours, including when fees are charged, please contact the facility directly.)

What are you waiting for? Check out the pass, gas the car, and pack a lunch. Go. Explore. See cool things. Have fun.
Then return the pass so another family can enjoy it.

Spring Book Sale May 17-18

The annual Spring Book Sale happens Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18, and the shelves are overflowing with books. This is the perfect time to stock up on beach reading, riding-in-the-car books, rainy day novels, and poolside paperbacks.

Whether it's histories or mysteries, sci-fi or crafts, you're sure to find something to fill your book bag. Over the last few weeks the Friends of Candor Free Library have been busy sorting and shelving and stacking to make it a bit easier for you to find what you're looking for.

All for the cost of …. a donation! If you are more comfortable with a price list, we can probably dig up an old copy for you to use as a guide. But seriously, you know what a good book is worth.

Spring Book Sale hours
Friday May 17, 10am-6pm
Saturday May 18, 10am-4

Try Something New:

  • Choose an author you've never read
  • Choose books with a theme (animal detective?)
  • Choose a book by its cover
  • Choose a book in a genre you've never read

You can make your book sale adventure "Plastic Free" by bringing along your own totes, canvas bags, roller suitcases....  See you there!
