STEM & ART @ the Library

December will be full of STEM and arts, starting with Saturday the 7th.

That morning, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. come join us for a “Coding With Pizza” event. Program robotic mice to run mazes. Build code for a video dance party. Best thing about it: You don’t need to know anything about computers to have fun! In fact, you probably already think like a coder and don’t even know it. This event is free and is part of “Hour of Code (TM)”, a nationwide initiative by Computer Science Education Week and Code.org. And yes, pizza will be involved.

That same Saturday afternoon there’s a Paint With Sandy workshop starting at 1:30 p.m. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn how to paint with acrylics. The workshop is free, and materials are provided. Space is limited to 14 participants, so call the library at 607-659-7258 to register. If that workshop is full, consider....

ArtSplash on Sunday, December 15 from 1 – 3 p.m. This is your chance to explore watercolor painting with Johanna. Participants will paint botanically-inspired watercolors on aquaboard. Emerging artists from 8 to 108 are welcome. ArtSplash! is free and all materials are provided. Space is limited to 15 participants, so please call Johanna at 607-659-7375 to register.

And Jules is thinking of holding another knit-crochet gathering for more hat-making.
