Painting, Legos, and Flight School coming up!

Bored?
      Nothing to do?
Come down to the library!
We've got lots going on, from art to engineering.

Pick up a paint brush and Paint with Sandy. This month she's celebrating turtles. The class is free (funded through the BOOKS grant and Fred Akshar) and so popular that you have to sign up early to reserve a seat. The next turtle-painting class is Saturday, March 17 at 1:30. Register by calling the library at 659-7258.

ArtSplash! happens on Sunday, March 18 and this month Johanna is exploring sculpture. The topic: catch the wind. Johanna will provide inspiration and materials for building-creating-making ways to capture March breezes. Class starts at 1 pm and the $5 fee covers materials. Register by calling the library at 659-7258.

LEGO Club starts Tuesday, March 20. Fran Howe will open the doors for fun and engineering exploration from 5-7 pm. The club is free (funded through the BOOKS grant and Fred Akshar). So many colors. So many blocks. So many possibilities of things to construct. Register by calling the library at 659-7258.

March ends with "flight school". Saturday, March 31 come join us for an afternoon of creating Things that Fly. We will engineer paper airplanes and copters, then send them on test flights. Our goal: to discover the secrets of paper aerodynamics. The workshop is free (funded through the BOOKS grant and Fred Akshar). Register by calling the library at 659-7258.
